teased by the day
Coral and Andrew: Wedding Trailer from Mayad Studios on Vimeo.
I love weddings! Not just because I'm a preacher's daughter (I get to witness a lot of those!)--I simply love to see two people celebrating their love for each other. Yes, people in-love are the most beautiful, most easy-to-talk to, and most contagious! Haha!
I am twenty-seven. I get a lot of teasing and questions if ever I want to marry and when. I guess people are excited to see me on the altar--but I can't be less thrilled. I'll surely have my time. It is both coming soon and tarrying for a while--helping me get ready in three ways: Pray, Preserve, Prepare. I know it's one of the most serious of all undertakings one has to undergo, I also look forward to the creatives. It doesn't have to be really fancy. At least, it shouldn't be dull. With too many things to consider and pay for to create a wedding of one's dreams, right now, I think most of the documentation part--after all, they last more--yes, they immortalize the moments of that big day.
1) Pre-Nup. A creative teaser like the one embedded on this entry is inspiring! Mayad Studios is one of the pro's these days! Really good! And another video during the preparations maybe. The wedding day isn't just about the exact I-Do date, but is a result of its preceding solars. And hey, maybe a compilation of moments during the despidida-de-soltera (bridal shower).
Again, to note:
a. teaser
b. compilation of the preps (short messages form friends and family; going to rentals and possible venues... planning moments... and dates in-between =D)
c. bridal shower highlights
Cerille and Martin from Mayad Studios on Vimeo.
2) Nuptial Day. I love same-day edit videos! They're short and practically feed the goads of the guests.
3) Post-Nup. Or, maybe, I should put the messages from friends and family on this part... hmmm... yeah... well-wishers! Most definitely, a video log of the honeymoon should be one! And right, this one should turn us professional videographers of ourselves such that we can't bring pros this time!
Sigh. I'm teased by the glorious day.

cheekai
Her name is {Cheekai}. She's a Q8. She's mine since April 15, 2010. I'm glad dual-SIM phones are available now in the Philippines. Cherry Mobile and MyPhone are the popular leading brands on phones of this sort. It's practicality and user-friendly make it a darling to students, housewives and business people. We Filipinos are known for texting and telecommunication networks in the country charge us low on calls and SMS.
For my case, I want my phone to store a lot of contacts; it's Qwerty keypad makes it easier and faster for me to communicate. I love how easy it is to transfer photos (I find it hard to scroll on my photos while using the phone, though) from phone to PC. It's handy. However, my unit shuts off a lot--it is not shock proof. It is a little tiring in turning it on. I was a little dismayed that it doesn't store copies of my outgoing messages. But now that I learned to set the "sent items" to its "outbox", I'm loving her more! My everyday best friend!
If funds rise, I might get the Eclipse unit.
Features:
- Dual SIM/Dual Standby
- QWERTY keypad
- Trackball navigation
- Camera 2.0 MP

Specifications:

nikki

We went island hopping yesterday with our foreign guests--speaker at the conference we held. friends from the States and Mexico enjoyed Samal's (IGaCoS) peaceful waves.
While they enjoyed snorkeling, i was thrilled by the crash course on photography that Kuya Roy gave me. He helped me with D60--aperture, ISO... shutter speed... i'm getting the hand of it! in the middle of the day, he made me use his D300s! happy me! hahaha! =D
I wish I could even call myself a budding photographer. Scenes and candids captivate me, and i do want to immortalize them--thanks to the invention of cameras. I just couldn't spell the genius!
Gotta play with manual-mode now. ;)

train of edibles
Last week had been edibly tight. I was out and about the city with friends.
Came Monday, guests from Pangasinan arrived at cold 5:00am. Treated them for lunch at Davao's local pride, Penong's. They are known for the unlimited rice offer. Clap your hands twice, and you get another serving!
Tuesday, 4 family-sized pizza from Pizza Hut was a good partner for the SM4 meeting! We were never bored!
Wednesday, lunch at Tita Annie's. Buffet lunch at P99.00. It was my first time there. The place was packed with business men and employees during their lunch break. Hmm, looks like I will be a frquent visitor to Roxas Avenue. Had merienda at McDonald's. We had dinner at Ahfat, the third resto. Aah, our favorite. Everything masarap! Our guests kept thanking us for bringing them there. =). We still wanted something for a chill, we headed to Damosa's Ice Giants. Mango Magnifico! Nyum!
Thursday, dinner date with sibs at Mandarin, SM. I'm amenable that I'm the least into Chinese-food in the fam.
Friday, a date with Langga at Calda. Pizza was a good company for intimate talks!
Saturday, afternoon chill with Salem and Jethro at Jollibee. We had fun analyzing the cars drive-thru-ing! ;) And then another pizza date at Mama Maria's Pizzeria at J.P. Laurel Avenue. This time with Weng. My second Calzone this week. We still wanted to gab, we crossed the street and stayed at Chicco de Cafe for the wee hours of the night.
I'm glad Davao's got a host of resto's and food lounges. And just like our guests, I'm in love more with Davao. Food is not just the way to a man's heart; it's one to a woman's, too. Trust me! =p

Crazy Love
Recently, I'm digging this book. Haha, and every time I open, I remember a friend who reacted at the title. Haha. Well, so far, the book has gotten me back and more to the amazement of a great big God Who deserves to be loved back (although I can never outgive Him)--all out and all in.
Intimacy requires conscious efforts. A love for God and from God flows. We can love the ones closest to us even those remote. Agape love and a trying effort to respond to it is craziness to the world.
Barely halfway, I am thrilled to flip the leaves as I am drawn towards my Creator, my Lover, my Friend. Others may call it crazy love, but to me, it's heaven--nothing on earth can compare!

Scent-sational

The name's catchy. Haha, am I really sensational even without the scent? What qualifies a woman for the term? Hmm... I guess I wanna start thinking about the word from now on. It could lead to something deeper about influencing a generation like mine...
Hey, did the word trigger me, or was it the scent that caused that? =p
(By the way, sweet thanks again, Langga *hugs*)

ID Team
One of my Encounter (our periodical retreat in church--where i serve as a volunteer staff for 4yrs now *wink*) blues is making the name badge. I am always excited each batch when I come to think of how it should look--design madness. And I have to admit, I am still a graphic freak--since when. And to be more honest, I have no plans of stopping myself from the sweet indulgence of this digital collection (where do i put them to use? well, i should be writing a different blog about it). Hehe.
And so today's another Encounter Friday, I'm usually nerving myself on the ID-making. And I haven't started yet. =(. I lost my graphic/photo editor, which brings me to downloading another. Here's what I got today: Adobe Fireworks CS5! My new best friend, I guess! Yay!
Off to work now.

Abbie's Cry
[DIDN'T NOTICE THE BIRD UNTIL THE POSTING OF THIS PHOTO... I SOMETIMES GET BIRDS IN PHOTOS, HAHA, AFFINITY FOR FEATHERED FRIENDS]
We hit the Bukidnon Road this week and heated Abbie's wheels (mom's birthday car--a white Toyota Avanza ), her first long trip loaded us:
Some deets:
Dvo-CDO (6hrs): We spoke at the Summit that Ptr Nove setup for his network, Monday night-Tue morning; CDO-Malaybalay (2hrs), another speaking engagement with the Four Square Leaders (one of the features I love about the G12 Vision, it unites the Body of Christ! *wink*), their 50th Year, Tue night-Wed afternoon; Malaybalay-Valencia City (45min)---@LPZ, Cell Leaders' Summit. Thu AM: headed home. wheeeew!

*Bukidnon so cold, food so healthy! Wee! Val-Dvo (4hrs)---BCC finally!
It was quite a trip. Papaps, on the wheels the whole time. Mamams, beaning (to keep our driver and boss--haha--awake). I managed to let the hours pass with a lot of singing-along and talking to God (sweetest part!)--not much sleep this time. I was visited with a lot of thoughts--God's faithfulness to our family, the ministry, my parents, me, the relatives, news, years ahead, friends... oh how they come in beautiful random causing me to well up--unusually. I grabbed my Supergirl shirt and covered my face--kunwari, tulog! I couldn't stop. Things are weighty and altogether light. Even in the silence of my guests, sweet tears graced my weariness and my Joy, my questions and my Answer, my confusion and my Assurance, my fears and my Faith, my hopes and my Love---unifying them at one time.
Haaaay.
I was told women cry for many reasons, and for no reason at all. When does one become a woman? Is it at twenty-seven, or when she learns to cry?
Okay, mejo hanging na blog---ganyan siguro kapag pagod. na-strengthen naman, after posting! weee! Alabyu Blogger.com! ooops, tool ka lang noh! THANK YOU LORD, for in the play of emotions, I FIND YOU. =)

Beauty And The Barbarian
From Anne, To Anne. Haha, at talaga namang nagkaintindihan tau noh?! Ingat ka jan, kasi dala mo phone mo. tsk.
Once upon a time, a young princess wandered through the woods. A nasty and barbarous man spotted the lovely princess and approached her. He offered her the “pleasure” of becoming his bride and living with him in the shack he called home.
After a quick look at this barbarian and his residence, the princess flatly refused. She told him she would never marry a man who couldn’t respect himself or his home. She wanted someone honorable like her father, the king. Then off she went to the beautiful castle.
The barbarian was crushed. In the following days, he couldn’t get the pure and noble princess out of his mind. Finally he vowed to win her, no matter what. He decided the only way to do this was to become a noble man himself.
He observed the king from afar, watching his actions and listening to his speech. He noticed and admired the king’s integrity and dignity. The king’s character captivated the barbarian. He wanted to be just like him. He still longed to marry the princess, but now his desire to become as noble as the king exceeded even his love for the princess.
Slowly but surely, as the barbarian modeled his behavior after the king, his appearance and manner were refined. He also worked long and hard to transform his home into a beautiful estate surrounded by well-tendered gardens.
Finally he felt ready to approach the princess once more. This time the princess was so impressed that she promised to consider his request to become his bride. Eventually the two were wed, and (you guessed it) they lived happily ever after.

Lalai & Migz drove her to people's park
then to our cousins' house
last sunday night

i was unwell,
yet felt well when the eagurlz nestled with me!

Sinabi rin kasi ni Papaps na nakakagaling

We brought AJ along...

it was also my first time at the newly constructed resort.
it was serene...
it melted the christmas* buzz in me
and it buffeted summer immediately.
the girls freshened at the pool
while clad with (nooo... not the strings!)
their child-like hearts.
we dipped in the cool, waveless ocean
and unraveled our hearts out.
(lam nu na un... hot seat! haha)
the water, the sky, the sand...
and xempre... the gurlz...
all composed...
oh so ideal!
sabi pa nga ni Hope,
"Ate, this is such a perfect holiday!"
i thought so, too.
i love davao.
i love beach again.
